Product Info
In the heart of Vidigueira, at the southern foot of the Serra do Mendro, on schist soils with a sandy loam and loam texture, the unprepared vineyards that gave rise to this wine are planted. The traditional grape varieties, mainly Trincadeira and Castelão, were hand-picked and trodden by foot for 2 days. When fermentation began spontaneously, the grapes were pressed and the must was kept in unlined 19th century clay amphorae until the end of alcoholic fermentation. The 12-month aging period was carried out in century-old barrels made of Portuguese oak and chestnut.
Grape varieties: Trincadeira and Castelão
Region: Alentejo
Tasting Notes: Vibrant ruby red, with garnet reflections. Aromas of balsam and spices, wrapped in fresh red fruit. Notes of forest with pine needles, delicate and very fine tannins, which translate into reactive acidity in the mouth. Tense, crunchy and elegant texture. Its character and identity are its freshness, never tiring, unfolding several layers of flavors, challenging the senses and ready to serve at the table.
