Redoma, created in 1991, Niepoort's first red wine, has as its main mission to reflect both the beauty and the harshness of the Douro Valley. It is a wine that, respecting the specificities of each year, always presents some rough edges, showing itself to be slightly rustic, due to the use of grape stalks in its vinification and the prolonged aging in vats

Grape varieties: Red Yellow, Touriga Franca, Rufete, Red Roriz and Red Cão

Region: Douro

Tasting Notes: Deep colour, with intense notes of fresh black fruit and a balsamic herbaceous aroma reminiscent of the native Mediterranean flora found in the region. Strong mineral character with a damp stone aroma and notes of stems, very rich and complex. On the palate, it is wild with great complexity. The tannins are present, but very well integrated and combined with a refreshing acidity. Long aftertaste, great presence with great ageing potential
